Skype for BlackBerry 10

If you have a new BlackBerry smartphone powered by the BlackBerry 10 platform, you will soon be able to download and run Skype on these devices. We are working closely with BlackBerry to ensure the Skype for Android app runs great in the BlackBerry 10 environment.
If you are with one of Skype’s mobile partners, you can get Skype on supported BlackBerry phones. To find out if your BlackBerry supports Skype, select your mobile service provider from the list below:
Unfortunately, Skype is not currently compatible with BlackBerry phones on the au or Telus network.
If you have a supported BlackBerry phone, you can download the Skype application for free. Select one of the links to find instructions on how to download:
Even if your phone isn’t supported, you can still call phones abroad at low Skype rates with Skype To Go™. It’s easy to set up – simply buy a little Skype Credit or a subscription and activate Skype To Go from your account.

Vodafone apologises for BlackBerry outage

Vodafone, the world's second-largest mobile operator with 407 million customers globally, said the problem was due to a router error and said services were now being restored.

"We apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused and we will provide updates as necessary," the group said in a statement. RIM, which has been hit before by high-profile outages in the last two years that affected millions of customers, said it was supporting Vodafone's efforts to resolve the issue.

Users on Twitter also reported problems with accessing emails on BlackBerries but it did not appear to be a widespread outage. "Vodafone can confirm that some BlackBerry customers experienced issues with their data services this morning in Europe, Middle East and Africa," it said.

"Services are in the process of being restored and we continue to monitor the situation closely."

BlackBerry Compliant with 10 Bluetooth 4.0

Looks like a BlackBerry Smartphone, assuming it's the full touchscreen London, will be Bluetooth 4.0 compliant. In a document spotted by CrackBerry, shows a BlackBerry Smartphone (RFH121LW) with OS Version 10.0.9.341 in the details. We know that the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha device is currently at the public beta OS of 10.0.9.388. So it's close, but we still can't say for sure what smartphone the RFH121LW might be.

In the meantime, here is a little snippet of info from Wiki about what Bluetooth 4.0 means:

Bluetooth low energy (BLE) is a feature of Bluetooth 4.0 wireless radio technology, aimed at new, principally low-power and low-latency, applications for wireless devices within a short range (up to 50 metres / 160 feet -see table below). This facilitates a wide range of applications and smaller form factor devices in the healthcare, fitness, security and home entertainment industries.
